5 months

I seriously cannot believe that 5 months ago I was in the hospital giving birth to my little Brady. Time has flown by so quickly! He changes so much every day and I feel like he is growing so fast too. I realized how heavy he was the other day when I was laying down and he was standing on my belly. He is a chunker and probably close to like 16 pounds now!

He has learned so many fun things in the past month and I have been a slacker not to come on and post about them more often. I don't want to forget these fun stages :]

Brady is so close to rolling over! He will arch his back and flip his legs over to the side, but his arm always gets stuck underneath so he will never roll completely. It makes changing his diaper pretty interesting sometimes!

He has been sick a few times the past month and had his first ear infection :[ I felt like a terrible mom!! That definitely threw off his sleeping schedule... or what we had going at least. We also went out of town for a weekend and those trips are always killers on a baby's schedule. Luckily this past week he has been sleeping better. And for the past 3 nights I have been laying him down awake and letting him put himself to sleep and it is definitely not as bad as I thought it would be :] Hopefully he will be sleeping all the way through the night soon! (I probably have a million pictures of him sleeping. I just can't help myself! He is too cute!) Brady also loves his bath and his bedtime routine. I definitely think that having a schedule will help him to figure out this whole sleeping thing!

With Brady growing bigger, he is also getting stronger! We pulled out his play table this month and he has been loving it! He will sit in it for like 30 minutes and just play with all the toys while I fold laundry or clean the house :] We are also working on him sitting up on his own. He is getting really close, which makes me so happy! Hopefully in the next week or two we will have that down.

Probably one of my favorite "tricks" that Brady is learning is how to kiss. If we make a kissing sound and pucker our lips, he will lean in with his mouth wide open and then squint his eyes all cute :] He is going to be such a ladies man!! Him and Elise are already destined to be together haha

Another thing I'm really excited about starting is feeding Brady solids! He is so interested in everything we do at the table and everything we eat. The other day, we went out to dinner and Jordan got a celery stick with his wings. Brady was getting restless sitting on our laps so we gave him the celery to try and he LOVED it! It kept him entertained for like 45 minutes and he just sucked on it the whole time :] I hope this means he will be good about eating his veggies haha

I seriously cannot imagine my life without this little boy :] He makes me the happiest momma in the world and I love spending every day with him! Jordan and I are such lucky parents to have him as our son. I can't wait for all the fun adventures we will have with him :] Happy 5 months big guy.

Realizations

So over past week I have realized a few things:
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. Brady is the cutest naked baby in the world
2. He is growing so fast and getting SO big!
3. Amy needs to move to Utah
4. I got engaged, married, pregnant, and had a baby all while my cousin was gone on a mission

---------------------------------------------------------------
1. This past week I took an infant massage class with my good friend Emily! It was definitely interesting if nothing else and I feel like I learned a few good things to help me to grow closer to Brady and love him even more :] Since then, I have been having him in less and less clothes while we are home. I think since he was born in November and it's so cold outside I feel like he has to be bundled up 24/7. But I realized it's okay for him to be nakie every once in a while :]

2. Brady is seriously getting huge! I feel like he is getting stronger every day as well :] We tried out the bumbo this past week for the first time... but Brady isn't quite ready for that yet hahaha

We got together for my cousins homecoming this weekend and we compared Brady and his cousin Scarlette who is 2 months older than him. He is already passing her up in weight and height! He is going to be such a little man :]

3. Amy came down for the weekend to see us and to visit my cousin, Dallan, who just got back from Mexico last week! It has been SO much fun having her here. I haven't lived close to her since before I got married... like April 2011? And even then, I only lived at home for like a month while Jordan and I were engaged. This was a little taste of what it would be like if we lived close again :] Friday she got in around 8ish and we just hung out and made a late night trip to Walmart with Jordan because he was looking for some snowboarding pants lol!

Saturday was a blast and reminded me of the good times. We slept in a little and while Jordan was gone snowboarding all day, we went shopping and found some great deals! It was definitely different shopping with a baby, but it was way fun :] When Jordan got home we went out and grabbed a bite to eat at Jdawgs. Over the weekend, we watched Pitch Perfect twice and quoted it literally every 5 minutes! It's probably our most favorite move ever... haha. We decided after the weekend was over that it would probably be amazing if she were to move to Utah :]

4. So Dallan got home this weekend and it was so great to see him! He left in January of 2011 and that is when Jordan and I were still dating. The next month I got engaged and things just took off from there. When Dallan got home, I got to introduce him for the first time to my husband and baby :] It was so great to see him and so fun to get together with my family for the day!

Brady is 2 months!

Just wanted to give a little update on Brady :] Today he is 2 months old! I can't believe how fast time has gone by. I feel like we just brought him home yesterday. He is growing and changing so much. We go in for his 2 month appointment tomorrow and I am excited to see how much he has grown.

He is so good at holding up his head now (well sometimes he lets it flop over when he is tired) and he loves to sit up on my lap and look around. I think he can recognize me and Jordan now and I love when he locks eyes with you and just stares! When I walk around the room he follows me with his eyes and watches me. It is so cute! He is finally getting a little hair back on his head after the initial hair loss haha. He is also getting more vocal, especially when he is laying on his back.

We are still working on a sleep schedule but for now he eats every 3 hours except for during the night, he has a 6 hour stretch from usually 10:00-4:00. He also has a long stretch in the day from around 11:00-3:00ish. He still sleeps in our room, but I think I'm going to try this week to have him sleep in his crib. I don't know how well it will go, but I am hoping he loves it!

We are the luckiest parents in the world and we love our happy boy!!

Busy with Birthdays and Brady's Blessing!

Life this past month has been crazy! We have been all over the place visiting family and everyone followed us back to Utah for Brady's baby blessing. We had so much fun with Jordan's family in Washington for the week after Christmas! We played games, watched lots of movies, and looked at Jordan's old baby pictures. It is crazy how much Brady and Jordan look alike! Jordan and I started a new Christmas tradition of buying each other a couples massage :] We enjoyed it and plan on continuing that tradition every year. After Christmas, it is birthday season for Jordan and I with his on January 2nd and mine on the 12th. We have been enjoying all the celebrations :]

After we got back to Utah on Friday, we got ready for Brady's blessing! Everyone pretty much just followed us back to Provo. It was so amazing to have our families with us for such a special time in our lives! For some reason, the Bishop decided to do the two baby blessings after the Sacrament. As I was about to take the water, the thought went through my head... I am totally going to drop this (as I was holding Brady). Sure enough, I dropped it and it landed on Brady's pants and splattered all over Jordan. I was mortified!!! Jordan luckily just laughed it off and it was mostly dry by the time he went up to bless Brady :] Jordan did such an amazing job on the blessing and it was such a sweet experience. We were so grateful to have our families there :]

We started school on Monday and it was nice to get back into our normal routine. Brady has been so fun lately and has been changing so much!! He is starting to hold up his head better and has been making lots of fun noises! I love to sit and "talk" with him while he is laying happily on his back. He loves to stretch and have his arms flailing to the sides while he smiles and makes oohh and ahh sounds. Today I actually got a picture of him smiling!

He has also been doing much better at tummy time! For a while at the beginning, he would just roll over the instant I put him on his belly. Now he can stand it for 5-10 minutes and he will just look around and make fun noises!

Another fun discovery for Brady this week has been his hands. He realized that he has hands and he loves to play with them, touch them together, and suck on them! It's so cute to see how much he is growing and changing over the weeks! It's crazy to think that he is 8 weeks old already. Time goes by too quick.

This semester I only have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning and I get to spend the rest of the week playing with my boy :] My favorite time of day is when Jordan comes home from school and we all spend time together as a family. It's so cute how much Jordan loves his son and how he is such a good daddy to him :]

Christmas in Boise

This year we went to my parents house in Boise for Christmas. My sister Amy was in town with her kids and Mandi and Craig were also in town spending time with us and his parents! My brother Michael was there as well to complete the crew :] It was so fun to get together with the whole family and see how much all the little kids have grown! Amy had her baby, Presley, on July 19, Mandi had her baby Scarlette on September 14 and I had Brady November 17 so they are all about 2 months apart! I am excited for them to grow up and be so close in age! They were already bonding during Christmas Eve dinner at Grandmas house :]

Presley and Scarlette are both smiling lots! Brady smiled for real for the first time this week :] He has had the sleepy smiles and gas smiles, but yesterday he actually smiled back at me and it was the cutest thing ever! Here are all three of the babies together to see the size difference! Presley is so long compared to both of them for now, but I feel like Brady is going to pass up both of the girls eventually :]

This summer when all three of us sisters were pregnant, we took pictures together! It was so fun to be pregnant together and go through everything with them. And now we all have our babies here and we get to enjoy them :]

Christmas Eve was so fun with everyone there! We enjoyed our big dinner and had pie. We used to play games and do puzzles together, but it gets a little harder to do things like that with so many kids running around! Now we just play with the kids and laugh at all the cute things they do :]

It was just Jordan, Brady, Michael and I at my parents house for Christmas morning. I remember when we were growing up we used to wake up at like 7 or 8 to open presents and my brother would get so mad that we got him up so early haha! This year we woke up around 9:30 or 10 and loved sleeping in :]

Brady loved his first Christmas and was so happy while we were opening presents! I love when he lays on my lap and just looks up at me and smiles. I was the lucky one and got to hold him while we were opening presents. He got a few fun things from us, his grandparents, and great grandparents :]

My favorite gifts when I was growing up were games or toys that I could play with or work on all day long. This year I didn't really get anything like that, but I got plenty of things I needed! Since I didn't have any games to keep me busy, I started putting together a foam bead string that the grandchildren got from my aunt this year!

We relaxed all day long on Christmas and enjoyed each others company. One of my favorite things about Christmas is the leftover turkey sandwiches! Mandi, Amy and their families came back over that evening for some food and to spend some time together. We were able to take some great pictures with all the families and grandchildren together :] well they were pretty good considering the patience levels of the kids!

I am obsessed with Deagan's hair and the smirk on his face in this picture! Such cute kids :]

When we told Max he was going to hold Brady we explained that he had to be really careful with his head. Max held Brady's head like this the whole time :] What a good cousin!

After Mandi and Amy left, we played some games with my parents and ate some left over pie. I would say that it was a very successful first Christmas for our little man!

First REAL bath

We arrived to Boise yesterday around 1:00 and have been loving spending time with my family :] On the drive here, the only pillow we brought was my nursing pillow and it was not the most comfortable pillow to nap with in the car...

Tonight we gave Brady his very first REAL bath! We have been giving him sponge baths for the past few weeks because at first we had to wait for his umbilical cord to fall off. Then pretty much as soon as that was gone, he got circumcised and we had to wait for that to heal before we could submerge him fully in water. I was a little nervous for him to take a real bath and I wasn't sure if he was going to like it, but these pictures say it all...

Look how cute that face is!

He loved the bath so much he even fell asleep :]
I would say that it was definitely a success!
